Nohzdyve is based on one of the other Black Mirror episodes in the series and the gameplay is rather simple: players are falling head-first between two buildings and must navigate left and right to pop balloons as they continuously plummet. Nohzdyve is made by Tuckersoft, the studio that Bandersnatch viewers will be very familiar with if they are rewatching Bandersnatch to get all the endings.
While there doesn’t seem to be much depth to this game, it’s certainly a novelty since it was actually programmed for the ZX Spectrum – an 8-bit console that released in 1982 as a rival to the Commodore 64. If fans want to play it, they will want to download an emulator like Speccy or Fuse.
Bandersnatch and Minecraft Story Mode are Netflix’s latest attempts to branch out in a different and unique direction from what they usually produce. These also showcase Netflix’s new interest in video game culture, as they are also currently producing a live-action show based on CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher series. This adaptation stars Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill as the beloved Geralt of Rivia, which has left some fans worried about how the adaptation will turn out.
While some fans are worried about The Witcher, others are worried the fate of Netflix’s Stranger Things game, which is in limbo due to the closure of Telltale Games. Hopefully, they will find a partner who can create another interactive story like Minecraft or Bandersnatch. Regardless, Netflix’s latest venture into video game culture has left many enthralled and asking for more. Perhaps Netflix will do more with the other fictional IPs that belong to Tuckersoft, but for now players can enjoy the blast from the past that is Nohzdyve.
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is available exclusively on Netflix. Nohzdyve can be downloaded from Tuckersoft.
