Today’s announcement was made via the Umbrella Academy Twitter account, which posted a minute-and-a-half-long video of the Netflix cast members who portray the seven superpowered Hargreeves children dancing to Tiffany’s “I Think We’re Alone Now.”

The social media account’s current description says “Time Travel is messy” as of this writing. This suggests fans can likely expect more time travel shenanigans from Aiden Gallagher’s character, Number Five, alongside new characters and settings in the upcoming season.
Having a set release date for a popular show like The Umbrella Academy in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic gives fans something to look forward to. Though businesses, schools, and public gathering places have been hit hard by social distancing guidelines, streaming services like Netflix have flourished with audiences stuck at home.
The Umbrella Academy Season 2 will air on Netflix starting July 31, 2020.
