The Adam Project is a Sci-Fi film dealing with a pilot who travels back in time to team up with his younger self and father to save the world. They’re joined in the cast by Zoe Saldana, Mark Ruffalo, and Jennifer Garner amongst others. Ryan Reynold remarked that this is the movie that most reflects his personal life.

Ryan Reynolds said in a Vanity Fair interview that he has this thought about life, saying “we tell ourselves stories that aren’t necessarily true,” and he did the same when he tried to justify his complicated relationship with his father before he passed away. Shawn Levy, the director of The Adam Project, added “There’s the notion of confronting your younger self, who might just see things more authentically than you have come to narrate for yourself.” He also added that not only was Walker Scobell able to go toe-to-toe with Ryan Reynolds, but Walker came into the film a huge fan of the star.
The photos and Ryan Reynolds’ comments are expected to build anticipation. Especially since he’s expected to take a short break from acting before he returns in Deadpool 3. A trailer for The Adam Project is expected to be imminent. Ryan Reynolds has done a lot of action comedies throughout the last couple of years, it’s very exciting to see him tackle a film that has a little dramatic edge to it. With the interviews he’s given, it seems to be very personal and cathartic to him, so expectations for his performance should be sky-high.
The supporting cast also seems promising, and he has a previously established working relationship with the director. They just recently worked on Free Guy together, and it was received well amongst critics and audiences alike. The recipe for a great treat of a movie is all there.
The Adam Project is set to premiere on Netflix on March 11th.
