As the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare community continues to prepare for Season 4’s launch fans continue to find ways to break the game. A new glitch is allowing players extra speed while prone, resulting in several amazing videos of fast crawling soldiers navigating the battlefield.

The Reddit video shows a standard game of Ground War, where, as a player makes it up some stairs, around the corner comes a very unexpected sight. Laying prone on the ground, crawling at a sprinting speed is a different player. Like a snake, they weave around obstacles and make their way into the building. This exploit is similar to the infinite sprint technique being used by pro players, except this time the player is laying on the ground and crawling.
Fans that have witnessed the video say that this is slowly becoming a more common occurrence, with many players saying that this is the result of flipping a vehicle and then getting out. The game seems unable to know what position the character model is in, allowing them to maintain a prone position while having the maneuverability of standing. This brings into question the power of vehicles and their practical use in Ground War.
If players are doing this on purpose, then this turns into more than a simple glitch. As an exploit, players are actively gaining an unfair advantage by being permanently in a prone position. This poses a problem for the developers and other players, as it unbalances the matchmaking, making this a possible game-breaking bug.
Still, the effect is hilarious to those who have not seen it yet. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is full of funny glitches that have appeared since launch, including one where an SMG model was swapped with a dog.
As the game speeds its way into Season 4, there are sure to be other strange and funny glitches, bugs, and exploits appearing in the game. Modern Warfare has had problems since launch, and it seems that it will continue to have problems in the future.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
