As it stands, there seems to be a great deal of hype for Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. The game’s initial announcement was met with much fanfare at last year’s E3, and if the gameplay videos released of it since then are any indication, it seems to be coming along quite well.
In fact, Naughty Dog, the studio that originally created the Crash Bandicoot series, has even given the N. Sane Trilogy its stamp of approval, which is a good sign that it will live up to the hype. At the very least, it should give fans nostalgic for Crash’s glory days a chance to revisit their favorite levels with vastly improved graphics.
Of course, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is bringing more to the table than just better graphics. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is also making a number of tweaks to the gameplay, including new checkpoints and a save system designed to make the games less frustrating. Furthermore, the time trials that were originally introduced in Crash Bandicoot: Warped are being added to the first two games in the series as well.
If Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy sells well and Activision sees value in pursuing a brand new game, one has to imagine that the new project would be in good hands at Vicarious Visions. However, fans will have to wait for the end of the month to see if the N. Sane Trilogy truly lives up to the hype.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be available on June 30th for PlayStation 4.
